The cornerstone of Main Street, The Farmer's Supply is now a self-service hotel nested above Phoenix Hardwoods and Lichen or Knot. We offer five thoughtfully designed apartments with modern sensibilities and a deep appreciation for the character and charm of this Virginia Historic Landmark.
Built in 1897 as a mercantile store and butcher’s shop for Thomas B. Huff and Horatio Howard, the building became home to The Farmer's Supply hardware store in 1920, supplying general hardware and merchandise to the area. In this capacity the Lawson Family managed the building and store for nearly a century.
As more visitors, entrepreneurs, and music lovers began to discover Floyd, the Lawsons too transitioned. The hardware store is now closed, but the storied and iconic building has been transformed into a new home for creative, dynamic local businesses. The Farmer's Supply self-service hotel is located on the upper floors; it serves as a respite for visitors discovering Floyd for the first time and for those familiar travelers who have, as we have, fallen in love with Floyd.
